Getting started
How long before cold email produces results?
Cold email produces early signals quickly and meaningful results gradually. Understanding which is which prevents people cancelling a campaign that was about to work.
Week one to two
First replies typically arrive within seven to ten days of campaigns going live. Most early replies are not buyers. They are people declining, unsubscribing, or telling you they are the wrong contact.
That is useful information rather than failure. It sharpens targeting.
Week three to four
This is usually when the first genuine conversations appear. Sequences have been adjusted based on what the first weeks revealed, and the messaging is closer to what the audience responds to.
Month two to three
Response volume becomes more predictable. You start to see which segments respond, what objections recur, and roughly how many conversations a given volume produces.
This is why the minimum commitment is three months. Before that point you have signals rather than a reliable pattern.
The mistake to avoid
Judging the system on the first fortnight. Early results are noisy, and the first campaign is partly a research exercise. The businesses that do best treat the first month as calibration rather than as the verdict.
