An honest look at our own industry
Why lead generation usually goes wrong
If you have been burned by a lead generation company before, you are in the majority. Read the one star reviews of the biggest names in this industry and the same five complaints come up again and again.
We would rather put them in front of you than pretend they do not exist. Here is what goes wrong, and what we do about each one.
01They promise the earth and deliver almost nothing
This is the most common complaint in the whole industry. A sales call promises thirty to sixty leads a month. Three months later the client has a handful, most of them people asking to be taken off the list. The promise was never deliverable, because how many people reply depends on what you sell and who you sell it to, not just on how good the agency is.
What we do
We do not promise you a number, and we never will. Anybody who does is guessing, and their reviews show it. What we commit to is the work itself. A fresh list built to your brief, a proper sequence written for you, sent steadily and watched daily. If it is not landing we change the approach and tell you why, rather than running the same thing into the ground until your three months are up.
02The leads were sold to three other people first
Businesses regularly find that the exclusive leads they paid for had already been contacted, or in some cases already booked, by a competitor. The usual explanation is that people fill in multiple enquiry forms. Sometimes that is true. Often the same database has simply been sold several times over.
What we do
We do not buy lists and we do not resell them. Your database is built from scratch against the criteria you set during onboarding, and it is used for your campaign only. Nobody else gets it. You can export the whole thing from your dashboard at any time and it stays yours if you leave.
03It will wreck my email reputation
This is the fear that costs the most and gets talked about the least. An agency sends high volume from a domain connected to your business, a chunk of it bounces or gets marked as spam, and your sender reputation collapses. Then your ordinary day to day emails, quotes, invoices, replies to customers, start landing in junk folders. Most people never connect the two things.
What we do
We buy a separate sending domain for every client and we never send from yours. If anything ever went wrong, it would go wrong on a domain that exists only for the campaign, and your real address would be untouched. We then warm that domain for a fortnight before a single real email goes out, and ramp the volume slowly while watching the bounce rate. This is the boring part nobody advertises. It is also the part that decides whether any of it works.
04Once they have your money, nobody answers the phone
A founder sells the deal, then hands the account to a junior, and the client spends the next few months chasing updates that never come. The complaints all read the same way. Calls not returned. Emails ignored. One reviewer put it plainly: once the sale is closed, you are on your own.
What we do
There are two of us. Ashley takes your call before you buy. Tahar does your onboarding call personally and then builds and runs your campaign himself. There is no account manager to be passed to, because there is nobody to pass you to. That is a limit on how many clients we can take at once, and we would rather have that limit than the alternative.
05The reporting is designed to look good, not to be true
Agencies report replies and call them leads. But a reply includes the people saying no thanks, the automatic out of office messages and the unsubscribes. One customer only worked out afterwards that most of what he had been shown as engagement was actually people asking to be removed from the list.
What we do
Your dashboard shows every reply and what it actually was. Interested, wants a call, not interested, out of office, unsubscribed. Nothing is hidden from you and nothing is quietly filed away to make the numbers look better. You get a plain English summary every Monday morning that says what happened, including the weeks where not much did.
The one thing we cannot show you yet
We are early. We do not have a wall of client logos or a page of testimonials, and we are not going to invent them. When we have clients who are happy to be named and quoted, they will appear on this site and not before.
What we can do is show you the system working, tell you exactly what it costs before you speak to anyone, and let you make your own mind up.
